Wood Specification

• Grain : Grain is usually straight, but can sometimes be interlocked; fine uniform texture and good natural luster.
• Color : Heartwood has dramatic striped appearance, somewhat similar to Zebrawood. Yellow to reddish brown body with darker brown or black stripes. Sharply demarcated sapwood is pale gold color.
• Strength & Durability : Macassar ebony is a highly durable wood with high hardness and density, making it ideal for high-traffic areas and heavy-duty applications. It resists rot, decay, and insect damage, and maintains stability even in fluctuating humidity conditions.
• Common Uses : Turning blanks are utilized by woodworkers to craft a diverse array of objects including vases, handles, spindles, bottle stoppers, pepper mills, pens, tool handles, knobs, pulls, and decorative ornaments.
